Spoilt for Choice: Deliveroo Opens Up World’s First Virtual Food Market

Deliveroo is announcing the launch of Food Market, giving customers the option of selecting dishes from different restaurants in the same order. The new service is powered by Deliveroo Editions - super kitchens that house delivery-only restaurants. From today, consumers can order from key restaurant partners including Messina, Fishbowl, Royal Stacks, The Moor's Head, Los Hermanos, Pat n Sticks and Sauced from Deliveroo Editions in Collingwood.  Excitingly, this will be the first time consumers in Melbourne will be able to order from Bondi famous poke brand, Fishbowl. The launch follows a successful 3 month trial in Melbourne, Hong Kong and Singapore which saw 10 restaurants take part providing hungry customers with the ability to order from multiple restaurants. Food Market uses Deliveroo's world-class technology to seamlessly connect multiple restaurant POS systems with a single customer order, a world first in the food delivery market. Deliveroo Editions is live across 8 markets providing delivery-only super kitchens to the very best local culinary talent. Through Food Market customers will gain even more choice, perfect for those ordering in groups who prefer different cuisine types. Levi Aron, Country Manager at Deliveroo said: "Deliveroo Food Market is a response to the debate you have with friends and family over what to order for lunch or dinner. By bringing some of Australia's best-loved cuisines and brands into one kitchen, customers can order burgers, tacos, poke, ice-cream and more within one order; no compromise necessary. This is a big step forward in food delivery and we're excited to be the first in Australia and are able to share the results with our friends in Melbourne and, in time, nationally". Food Market is the latest investment in innovation from Deliveroo following the launch of Deliveroo's Marketplace+, the global rollout of Deliveroo Editions and its acquisition of New York's Maple to grow its technology proposition.
