Beach More Amazing

Deliveroo Announces Beach Clean-Up Initiative

Doing good for the environment AND getting your hands on free food? To kick off Summer and help keep Australia's beaches tidy, Deliveroo is launching Beach More Amazing, an initiative that encourages people to collect rubbish in exchange for Deliveroo dosh. Beach siders paying a visit to selected Sydney, Melbourne and Gold Coast beaches this weekend (December 1st and 2nd) can pick up a teal bucket to collect rubbish. Each full bucket can be swapped out for $5 worth of Deliveroo credit.   Deliveroo has partnered with Responsible Runners to launch the initiative celebrating beach deliveries, which allows hungry sunseekers to order food direct to their towel and encourage Aussies to be responsible in keeping beaches tidy. Deliveroo delivers to 150 beaches Australia wide, having just launched in Hobart, Sunshine Coast, Cairns and Newcastle. The initiative comes after 2,651,613 pieces of debris were collected from Australian beaches over the course of 24 months. 75% of this debris was plastic. Levi Aron, Country Manager said, "Australia has some of the world's best beaches, and our new deliver-to-towel service means you don't need to miss a minute on the sand. The goal of this weekend's Beach More Amazing initiative is to help protect one of Australia's biggest assets - so we can continue to enjoy its beauty for years to come".   A spokesperson from Responsible Runners said: "Responsible Runners is all about the community coming together to give a little back to their favourite place, their beach. We're thrilled to be teaming up with Deliveroo on the Beach More Amazing initiative to encourage even more Australian's to do their bit." Continuing to make its mark in sustainability, Deliveroo's Beach More Amazing initiative follows on from their announcement earlier in the year to reduce plastic waste by introducing biodegradable packaging and an opt-in function to include cutlery for deliveries which allows consumers the option to choose whether they would like to receive cutlery or not. This week, Deliveroo will distribute 100,000 sustainable paper straws to restaurant partners in a commitment to reduce plastic waste. Deliveroo will be at the below shores for Beach More Amazing:

Sydney - Bondi Melbourne - St Kilda Gold Coast - Broadbeach
